first_imgTeam Mohamed’s has once again demonstrated its power and endurance when the Guyana Motor Racing and Sport Club (GMR&SC) hosted its 3rd Edition of King of the Strips at the South Dakota Circuit on Sunday.Team Mohamed’s owner, Azzrudin Mohamed posed with his team membersWith an excellent performance on Sunday, Team Mohamed remains on course for the drag racing throne. The team’s GTR did not disappoint as they treated spectators to two high –powered drags.Poised at retaining the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) Super Bike title, Team Mohamed’s owner, Azzrudin Mohamed was drenched in delight while noting his team always delivers. He added that his team is committed to stay on top both here in Guyana and in the Caribbean.The GTR ‘Goliath’ during the dragsMohamed noted his disappointment in the now show by Shawn Persaud in the finals but was satisfied that his team was able to impress the fans and give them their money’s worth.However, in the unlimited class final Shawn Persaud and his Toyota Caldina failed to take to the starting line due to circumstances beyond their control thus giving Terrence Cox with his GTR ‘Goliath’ an automatic victory.Nevertheless, Randel Daby was unmatched in the nine-second class but was not competition for the GTR ‘Goliath’ in the final exhibition race of the day.On the other hand, Damion Persuad defended his 10-second class in his Toyota Caldina. Other winners include, Chet Singh who took the win in the 11-second class; Pierre Singh in the 12-second class and Narindradutt Mangar in the 13-second class.Balram Ramdeo took top honours in the 14-second class. Stunning Fanad Lighthouse opening for tours this Saturday

first_imgThe iconic Fanad Lighthouse of Donegal will be opening its doors for the 2019 season this Saturday 13th April. The popular tourist destination will be hosting guided tours six days a week, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the history of the lighthouse and climb the tower for spectacular views of land and sea.Fanad Lighthouse, one of the Great Lighthouses of Ireland and a Signature Discovery Point on the Wild Atlantic Way, recorded visitor numbers of 23,000 last year. www.fanadlighthouse.comSince opening to the public in 2016, this working lighthouse has helped drive tourism to the Fanad peninsula, an area with much to offer visitors – such as the stunning Ballymastocker beach and Knockalla coast drive. AID FOR AIDS To Host My Hero Gala

Eutelsats W3C satellite has entered commercial op

first_imgEutelsat’s W3C satellite has entered commercial operation at the 16° East orbital position. The transfer of all traffic, including over 480 TV channels, onto W3C from the Eurobird 16, W2M and SESAT 1 satellites, was completed yesterday by Eutelsat’s control centre.Eutelsat said over 11 million homes in central Europe and 500,000 in Indian Ocean islands are equipped to receive broadcast services from the 16° East neighbourhood. Pay TV platforms and public and private broadcasters using W3C include SBB, Digitalb, TV Max, Tring and TV Romania. SBB, operator of Total TV, the Serbian DTH platform, is adding two transponders to the six already leased at 16° East. Leased to 2020, the additional capacity will be used to support new channel launches.Eutelsat’s Eurobird 16, SESAT 1 and W2M satellites remain in commercial service.last_img read more
