Niantic has just put out a Pokémon Go challenge that’ll keep folks busy during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Surely, catching a total of three billion Pokémon will help folks get back into shape.The Global Catch Challenge is already underway and runs until November 26. Players from around the world must capture a total of three billion digital monsters. If they do, they can expect to receive prizes of double XP, more spawns, and double Stardust. On top of that, during a 48-hour period, all players have the opportunity to catch the rare duck Pokémon, Farfetch’d. It is entirely possible players will not reach this goal. If they don’t, they’re still in for some prizes. At $500 million, users will receive double XP and additional spawns. At 1.5 billion catches, they will get those extras plus double Stardust. According to GamingBolt, if players do not trigger the exclusive Pokémon, there is a chance they can trade with a local friend eventually.As someone who has covered Pokémon Go since the beginning, it’s interesting to see folks still playing it. Though the media buzz surrounding the mobile game has quieted, the game hasn’t gone anywhere. Niantic certainly does a great job of updating the title with new events and features.
