BOCES students creation inspires Valentine’s dessert at Frank’s Italian Restaurant

first_imgBOCES Culinary Arts Student Claudia Vandyke helped created a decadent, chocolate dessert for the event and this week an inspired dish will appear on Frank’s menu. Students tasted the inspired dish Wednesday, called the Mocha Sweetheart Mousse, which is one of the options on the restaurant’s Valentine’s prix fixe menu. “It’s wonderful, it’s giving back to the young people, that’s who we have, they’re our future, it sounds a little corny, but it’s real,” said Frank LoPiccolo, owner of Frank’s. TOWN OF MAINE (WBNG) — Frank’s Italian Restaurant will feature a student-inspired dessert for their special Valentine’s menu starting Wednesday. “I hope to hopefully open up my own restaurant one day,” said Vandyke. “It’s unbelievable, I never thought a day like this would come,” said Vandyke. The student-inspired dessert will be featured at Frank’s starting Wednesday through the weekend. A few weeks ago, Broome-Tioga BOCES students crafted their own culinary creations for local restaurants like Frank’s as apart of a competition, resulting in their dishes being featured on real menus. While it may be just one dessert, students say they plan to continue heating it up in the kitchen.last_img read more
