Western Indian Ocean up for marine renewables market study

first_imgConsulting services are being sought for the delivery of market study into the challenges and opportunities for the marine renewable energy developments in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO).The WIO market study, for which requests for proposals have been launched by Shernas Limited, will encompass key jurisdictions within the region including Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros and Mayotte, Reunion and Seychelles.The study will provide insight on the state of the WIO, opportunities, and challenges in regards to offshore wind, tidal (in‐stream), wave, and river current or hydrokinetic development.In parallel with the planned work to be undertaken by Shernas Limited to map the key sites for offshore wind, wave and tidal renewable energy in Kenya, the study will also investigate the transportation infrastructure required to service the key sites.The successful contractor is therefore expected to provide a higher level overview for Kenya including transport requirements to develop these renewable energy resources.To realize optimum delivery of support to this sector, transport networks has to be available that provide unrestricted and efficient access to key sites in Kenya’s offshore waters,” said Shernas Limited in the request for proposals.The closing date for submission of proposals has been set for July 31, 2018.It is expected that the final market study document will be delivered 90 days after contract signing, Shernas Limited noted. Election day polling sites

Today is elections day.  There are no elections for statewide offices this year. However, there are municipal elections on the local scale taking place across the state including here in Batesville and Greensburg.  Polls open at 6 am and closed at 6 pm.  If you are inside the voting poll by 6 pm, you will be permitted to vote.  Make sure you take a valid Indiana ID. Three voting locations in Batesville:Batesville Public Library at 131 N.
